Max Liebermann is the most famous and well-known German impresionist. He is known as a painter of city life atmosphere of the cream of society but also country life where he was aimed on the light and shadows effects. He was famous in Berlin as a portrait painter and his works remind similar Eduard Manet works. During the summer he used to live frequantly in Holland in the period 1874 - 1914 where couple of works from country life has been created.
