The court gunsmith of the Emperor Leopold I, from the year 1680 to 1700 worked for the Imperial Court in Vienna and Prague.
All weapons made by gunsmith La Marre are of top quality due to the using of selected wood and other materials and rich décor.
La Marre weapons were produced for the top noble families and rarely occur on auctions.
These pistols were made for Ernst August (1629-1698) who came from the English royal family, the House of Hanover, and was the father of British King George I.
